Day 8 - Photoshoot and apple strudel

Even though today started like any other day here, it was supposed to be an extraordinary day for me. I planned to do something I've never done before. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be.
I was going to fly on a tandem paraglide from the top of Jacobshorn. My friend J is addicted to paragliding and even has her own parachute. She left early in the morning before I even woke up. I was going to meet her at noon at Jacobshorn and take a flight with one of the flight school instructors. But just before I got up there, the wind changed and it was impossible to fly today. So J took her parachute down to her car and was going to get her skies. We were planning to spend the afternoon skiing at the Jacobshorn slopes like last Sunday. But my leg was hurting so much that I couldn't stay in my ski boot. I've had a lump on my shin since yesterday and every time I put pressure on my leg, it felt like someone was cutting my shin in half. So that was the end of skiing for me. I managed to get down to Davos, in pain, and was more than happy to take the boots off. I thought there was no way I could ski again tomorrow so I even returned all the ski gear a day early. So that's it, no more skiing. It makes me feel rather sad. I really enjoyed it and was getting quite good. I hope it won't be another 20 years till my next skiing trip.:-)
So instead of skiing we were being tourists. We went to Parsenn and took the lifts all the way to the top. The view was amazing, again. I had my SLR camera with me this time and took some really good pictures. We spent like two hours walking around and admiring the mountains around. I can never get tired of it. We were hoping to see the sunset before taking the last lift down so we sat in the restaurant and I had this amazing apple strudel with vanilla sauce. I know it had like hundreds of calories but it tasted really good.:-) Well, there is time for my diet after my holiday...;-)We didn't see the sunset because it was kind of cloudy at that side and because we didn't want to miss the last lift down to Davos. At home we cooked and ate dinner and then watched a movie, ate popcorn and drank beer. Even though I am a bit disappointed about the fact that I couldn't ski today and that I won't ski again for some time, I enjoyed this day for different reasons. I've had such a good week, one of the best in a long time.
